Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a technique that is used to treat fascial restrictions and adhesions that occur due to a process called fibrosis.  This process can occur for many reasons including inactivity, overuse,  dehydration, trauma but it has been found primarily be due to diminished blood flow.  With IASTM we will use a stainless steel tool to break away this fibrotic/scar tissue, which in return will allow the underlying tissue to regain prior function.
